The following liquid-gas model was first proposed
to induce
phase separation in a lattice gas
by Appert and Zaleski [29]. The interaction
was further developed in reference [30].
The interactions act to separate the fluid into two phases of considerably different densities, a liquid phase and a gaseous phase.
