Lattice gas models belong to the class of cellular automata and are used for
simulating fluid systems. A cellular automata consists of a lattice
whose sites, the intersection points of the lattice,
can take a finite number of states. The automaton evolves in discrete
time steps; the state of each site at any time is determined by
its own state and the
state of a set of neighbouring sites at the previous time step.
