The most popular method in CFD is the
numerical solution of the Navier-Stokes equation (1.2).
Given the Navier-Stokes equation and a set of suitable
boundary conditions it is possible to solve on a grid using the standard
numerical techniques. This works well for simple flows, however
more complex problems frequently require a more complex approach.
There are many standard texts on numerical methods in fluids including
Roach [1] and Conner and Brebbia [2].
